Black Friday Haul

Here’s what I have to say about Black Friday: it’s not worth it. Granted, I got to the mall at 6am (not at midnight or anything) so I don’t know if there were better deals earlier…? My instinct is to say no, but maybe that’s just my area. Although I really didn’t get any super-mega-awesome deals, I still had a lot of fun and picked up some awesome stuff.

IMG_1630 - Version 2First stop: Forever 21! I LOVE this jean jacket. It’s so comfortable and it looks so effortlessly cool with anything I wear. In terms of the dress, I loved the pattern  and the cut out on back (sorry I don’t have a picture), but I’m not sure yet if I’m going to keep it. I put it on to wear to school on Monday and I just wasn’t sure. It’s a small, but it has a loose, flowy fit, which is something I’m not used to, as my dresses are usually pretty cinched at the waist and then flare. Maybe I’ll post a picture of myself in it next week and you guys can see what you think. Also, I’m sorry. I cannot, for the life of me find the link to the dress on the Forever 21 website. If I find it, I’ll let you know!

IMG_1641 - Version 2Also from Forever 21 is this onesie (similar). It’s super comfortable and absolutely adorable. It doesn’t fit exactly right – the sleeves are bit too short – but they’re just pajamas! Plus, you can’t beat the price!

IMG_1778 - Version 2The last thing that I bought from Forever 21 was a pair of tights. This was the only Black Friday deal I got at Forever 21. It was 50% sale items in there and since these tights were marked down to $5, I got them for $2.50! Excuse the awkward leg photo, but I wanted to show you the pattern.

IMG_1660 - Version 2I was so excited about this purchase. I don’t usually shop at American Eagle because they’re just a little bit out of my price range, but it was 40% off the entire store (which is a deal that I believe is still going on online) and well, I take the opportunities that are presented to me (gosh, I sound pretentious). This flannel feels like it’s made out of quality material, the colors are great, and the hood is a nice, cozy touch.

IMG_1752 - Version 2A shopping trip could not be complete without a trip to Lush and while I was in there, I picked up a bunch of stuff from their Christmas line. All the products I picked up were of that same warm, spicy scent that I love about the holidays. From left to right, top to bottom, the products pictured are the Holly Golightly bubble bar, the Yog Nog soap, two of the Melting Snowman luxury bath melts, and a sample of the Hot Toddy shower gel. I can’t wait to try all of these products!

IMG_1703 - Version 2Last, but not least, we went to Target. We actually went on Saturday, not Friday, for this one, but hey, it was still 40% all women’s clothing, so close enough right? Anyways, I saw this flannel in Target and I was like, “I like you, flannel.” So I bought it. I think it’s different enough from the other flannel I bought (different colors, no hood, etc.) to be a good addition to my closet (again why do I sound so formal?).

Okay well that is all I have for you guys today! I could ramble on about my purchases forever, but I’ll cut myself off here. I hope you enjoyed this post and I’ll talk to you guys soon!

Forever 21/Victoria’s Secret/Lush Haul

So I spent a little bit too much money in Forever 21 the other day, but I got some great stuff. Enjoy!

IMG_0585 This was one of my favorite purchases from Forever 21. These shorts are just so cute and so comfy. They’re actually sitting in my dirty clothes pile at the moment and I need to wash them so I can wear them again!IMG_0592 This skirt is so cute, but unfortunately very see through, so I’ll need to buy a pair of white spandex before I can wear these. In fact, I was just looking on the Forever 21 website and they have a ton of different spandex shorts which would be perfect. You can find them here.IMG_0601 IMG_0597 This kimono thing is sooooo comfy and by putting it on, it automatically makes your outfit look ultra-chic. So it’s a win-win.

IMG_0603This skirt isn’t quite as pink as it looks in the picture (it’s more of a dusty pink), but it’s just as cute. Even my sister complimented me when I came down wearing it this morning.
IMG_0608 I love these shorts (I’ve wanted a pair of lace shorts for forever), but unfortunately, I did not realize how short they really were until I actually wore them. I have to pull them down every few seconds.IMG_0616 Although this shirt seems a little boxy in the picture, it fits me beautifully and I love, love, love it!IMG_0618_2 This skirt is freaking awesome. If you couldn’t tell, it’s a high-low skirt and that feature gives any outfit a little extra oomph.IMG_0638_2Another pair of shorts that I absolutely loved, but later realized are way too short. I really don’t want to be showing my butt to the whole world thanks…
IMG_0644Another pair of shorts! Guess what? Too short again! Yeah I didn’t have great luck with shorts that day, though apparently I thought I did. I’ll probably end up wearing these babies under some of my shorter skirts. Either that or wear them with tights. Ooooooh.IMG_0652I love this dress! It’s pretty see through, so I’ll have to make sure I’m wearing the right underwear and bra, but I have those things. Now I just need an occasion to wear it for!IMG_0634Now I really didn’t need new underwear, but Victoria’s Secret was having a sale (7 pairs of underwear for $26.50) and with prices usually being around $8-10 per pair, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity.
IMG_0659 We all know and love Lush. So of course I had to have a quick pop in there and take a look around. As soon as I came in, I was approached and told about all the new products Lush had. One of the items was this ginger bath bomb called Granny Takes A Dip. I’m a big fan of ginger so of course I had to try it. Look for a review coming soon! 😉IMG_0665This is one of–if not the–best purchases I made that day. It was featured in my July Favorites posts. It smells absolutely heavenly and if you are a big fan of jasmine scented things, then you need this in your life.

Shopping Haul!

Hey guys! I hope you’re having a great weekend so far! This is post has taken me forever to get up and some of this stuff was bought at different times. Anyways the first thing I’m going to start with is the clothing:

Shopping Haul Clothing

The black skater skirt ($9.80) is from Forever 21 and it is actually sold out right now, but you can check it out here. (The picture is of a blue skirt, but a black one was available). I think this skirt is so cute and perfect for a night out with the girls. (Plus, it was really cheap!) The second dress ($24.99) I actually talked about in yesterday’s post which you can read here. This dress looks so cute with a white belt around the waist and is perfect for spring.

Shopping Haul Sweater

I almost forgot to put in this sweater from Forever 21 ($18.99)! Most sweaters really don’t look good on me, but there’s a certain type of sweater that just works better than others and it’s this type. Also, this sweater is a mint green color, which seems to be my color this spring.

Now on to jewelry:

Lush Earrings

I thought these earrings ($12) from Francesca’s were just absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately I do not see them online anymore.

The rest of the stuff was beauty products, but I’m going to do it in two parts. Lush stuff, and then everything else.

Lush Soap

This is the Ice Blue Soap from Lush ($29/lb). I’ve used this a couple of times, and I must say, I was expecting a lot more. The description says it cools the skin so I was kind of expecting a Burts Bees lip balm effect. Not so. I don’t really feel like it moisturizes either. However, I have only used it a couple of times, and I think I really should use it more before I tell you guys what I think. It smells pretty good though.

Lush Sex Bomb

This is the Sex Bomb Bath Bomb ($6.65) from Lush. I am SO excited to use this bath bomb. The first time I ever went into Lush, the ladies in there were like, “Oh my goodness you have to see this,” and they showed me how the flower came out and it was so cool. Unfortunately it was the end of my shopping day that day and I had no money left in wallet so I did not buy it. I was so excited to finally be able to buy almost two years later! I love Lush’s bath bombs and actually, as I was taking pictures of this bath bomb, the scent was just wafting up to my nose, making me want to take a bath!

Lush Oatifix and Daddy-O

This is the Oatifix Face Mask ($6.95) and Daddy-O Shampoo ($9.95/3.3 fl oz) from Lush. I bought the Oatifix face mask because I never have tried one of their face masks before and this one is for sensitive skin and is supposed to be very hydrating. I actually bought the Daddy-O shampoo for my sister because she wanted me to bring her back something from my shopping trip so this is what I bought her. This shampoo smells absolutely amazing! Every time my sister walks by after recently getting out of the shower, I’m like, “OH MY GOODNESS YOU SMELL SO GOOD!”

Beauty Products Haul

These are the rest of the beauty products I bought. “The blogger made me” buy all these products. If you can’t tell from the picture, I bought Batise Dry Shampoo ($8.49), Essie Nail Polish in Mademoiselle ($8.50), and Essie Nail Polish in Mint Candy Apple ($8.50). You can read my review of Mint Candy Apple here. Funny story actually about when I bought Mademoiselle. I picked it up from the shelf and then as I was walking around the drugstore, I realized I didn’t like something about the bottle so I put it back and grabbed another one. However, when I got home, I realized I had picked up Ballet Slippers. Whoops! Luckily the drugstore people were really nice about it, but the guy who helped me was basically laughing at me because the colors look so similar.

Well, I hope you like this post! I know it was really long. I bought a lot of stuff…whoops.

3 Reasons to Buy Jeans From Thrift Stores

Okay, don’t get me wrong, I love my Delia’s jeans, but I have learned over the years that ultimately, it is better to buy your jeans from a thrift store and here’s why:

  1. Thrift store jeans are cheaper – This is a big one for me. I am a big cheapo. Any clothing over $25 and I’m reluctant to buy it. One, because I don’t think I need to spend hundreds of dollars on clothing, and two, because my style is always changing. One reason I love buying cheap thrift store jeans is because I know if I gain weight grow out of them it’s not that big of a deal. Also, you can sometimes find jeans at thrift stores that are from nicer stores and are usually very expensive.
  2. Thrift store jeans are already worn in – They are already all stretched out and you know–for the most part–that they’ll stay the color you buy them in. Also, since they’re already worn in, they’re more comfortable. My friend also added that they won’t shrink since they’ve already been washed multiple times. However, I’ve never had a problem with my jeans shrink so…
  3. You know what color your jeans are going to be – The two pairs of jeans that I have actually bought new, are definitely different shades then when I first bought them. This can happen with thrift store jeans too, but it tends to happen a lot less.

What do you love about thrift stores?

Best and Worst Shopping Choices

I love shopping, but I don’t always make the best decisions and I sometimes end up with clothes that I don’t wear. Last summer I was out shopping with my friends, and me and my best friend came upon these pairs of very stretchy colorful pants. I want to say leggings, but it wasn’t exactly that. Anyway, long story short, I ended up buying a pink pair of leggings pants that I never ended up wearing. If you click on the picture below, it will take you to the website of the company which the pants came from. Now, on the website the pants are $11o. I bought them for around $30-$35. So maybe they weren’t the worst decision ever (because they are actually pretty comfortable), but they really aren’t my style anymore and the stitches rip very easily.

Now, if the pants above are the same as the pants I bought, they are definitely not that pink. My pants look more like the color in the image below:

Pink Pants Color

Now lets on a slightly happier note. I have many favorite finds, but my current favorite is a pair of boots I bought recently. When I first saw them, I immediately wanted them. However, I was a little skeptical because they were almost a full size too big. Maybe not that big, but there was definitely some slide room. It was another lady shopping there that convinced me though. “Those are so great!” she told me. So I bought them (I totally succumb to peer pressure) and I love them! They are so neutral and I wear them with just about everything. They’re from Old Navy by the way, but I bought them at a thrift store. Thrift stores are the best.

Cute Boots!

Shopping Haul! (Plus Product Review)

A few weeks ago a few of my friends and I went shopping. Our hearts really weren’t that into it though so we didn’t pick up nearly as much as we might have. Our first stop was Target.

I bought the following products from Target:

  1. Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Scrunching Gel ($3.39) – I bought this product just to try it out. I have curly hair and I don’t like how it dries after being wet. The curls are all frizzy and tangled. However, I have yet to try this product.
  2. Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampooing Sec ($1.99) – I also bought this product just to try it out. I have used it once and although it smells very nice, it doesn’t really seem to make a difference. I will have to use it more though to really make a solid conclusion.
  3. Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in Transparent ($3.99) – I bought this product to replace my old one which broke because I dropped it. I love this product and I use it every day!
  4. Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream Travel Size ($1.27) – I have extremely dry hands and this hand cream is one of the only things that helps them. Plus I love the cute little travel sized tubes.

I bought the following items at TJ Maxx. Both were products I bought to try out:

  1. Original Dead Sea Night Cream ($5.99) – I’ve never tried this product before, but I love it! It smells good and it leaves my skin feeling really soft.
  2. Original Dead Sea Exfoliating Mud Mask ($5.99) – This product is also really nice. I’m not particularly in love with the smell (it smells slightly of cherry cough syrup), but it leaves my skin feeling smooth, soft, and clear. It does somewhat irritate my skin when I first put it on, but I think this is because of the small bits of sand that are exfoliating my face.

Does anyone own any of these products? If so, what do like/dislike about them?
