Valentine’s day is just around the corner and my sexy lingerie loving friends at Adore Me, inspired me to think about a Valentine’s Day look. Whether you have a date or are just going out with friends I have cute, yet sophisticated look for you!
For makeup I went for the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation as my base and covered up any spots with my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. For eyes I went for my Loc One & Done Shadow Stick in the shade “On Point,” put that all over my eyelid, then took a bit of glittery brown eyeshadow that I have (no idea the name of the palette or the shade soz), and blended that into my crease (look at me talking like I actually know something about makeup). Then I lined my eyes with my Stila liquid eyeliner and Wet n Wild pencil. I finished my eyes off by curling them and then going in with the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. For blush I went for the Balm Desert Bronzer/Blusher and applied some of my Pearl Invasion highlighter on my cheekbones. I finished off the look with some of my Rimmel Stay Matte powder and a swipe of nude lipstick.
I love this dress from Forever 21 because it’s so flowy and sophisticated. There’s a cheeky little cutout in back which I think adds just a little bit of something extra. Plus, the colors just scream winter to me, making it perfect for this time of year. I paired it with my Mootsie Tootsie white wedges (which are so cute, but tbh seen better days) and these cute little earrings that my friend gave me for my birthday last year.
For those who plan on just staying in and snuggling up to watch some Netflix or Valentine’s Day, get yourself some cute PJs. Adore Me, along with having really pretty underwear, has some really nice pajamas. Plus, if you order from them by Wednesday, February 10th, it will arrive in time for Valentine’s Day!
I hope that this post inspired you and that you have great Valentine’s Day, no matter what you’re doing! Let me know what your plans are in the comments below!
Okay so kind of a late Empties post, but, hey, it’s here! Enjoy! 🙂
Clump Crusher Mascara: I absolutely love the brush on this mascara! It’s perfect for using on your bottom lashes. True to its word, there are no clumps! However, I really can’t say there is 200% more volume. However, I think this mascara is good for a very natural, everyday look and for just swiping on your lashes really quickly before leaving the house. Will probably be repurchasing this in the future!
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara: I really had a love-hate relationship with this mascara. When I first started using it, I was like “Ew, no,” but I took a break from it for a while and went back to it. Although it is not the perfect mascara I’m looking for, it does a pretty good job (better than the mascara I’m using right now). However, I don’t know if I would recommend it to other people just because it’s been so hit and miss with other people. Would I repurchase this mascara? Maybe. If I can’t find any other drugstore mascara I like, then yes, but I think I’ll wait to come back to this one.
Harmony Crème Balm: Oh my goodness I love this moisturizer so much. This was my holy grail moisturizer during the winter. I have combination skin which becomes more dry in the winter and more oily in the summer. However, until I met this bad boy, I was never able to find a moisturizer that gave my skin lots of moisture while still being mattifying. This moisturizer does that!!! However, it’s a little out of my price range so I doubt I’ll be using this again anytime soon, but this little pot did last a good 2-3 weeks (a little goes a loooong way), so maybe it’s worth the investment. Or…Christmas present?
Softlips Lip Balm: This used to be my favorite lip balm before I discovered Burt’s Bees. It has that cooling sensation like Burt’s Bees does (which I love), but is less moisturizing. I was using this because I currently trying to use up all the remaining lip balm I have so I can just use Burt’s Bees from now until forever. 🙂
Hope you enjoyed this post and I’d love to see your Empties Posts so put your links below!
My March Birhbox just arrived a few days ago. Yay! See my February one here.
- COOLA Tinted Matte SPF 30 for Face (Full Size $36 | Sample Size $3.60) – I am very excited to try this as I have never tried any tinted moisturizers or BB Creams before. I also love that this product contains so many organic ingredients.
- Gilchrist & Soames London Collection Body Lotion (Full Size $16 | Sample Size $3) – I’m not such a big fan of the scent of this. It smells too masculine/fresh for me, but that’s probably just because I tend to prefer really girly, feminine smells. This is not quite moisturizing for my hands, but I did really enjoy using it on my legs after I got out of the bath the other day.
- Tea Forté minteas (Pack of 3, $9.95 | One Pack $3.32) – I really like these mints. They taste really good (I’m a big fan of both mints and tea). They also claim to freshen your breath, but I have no idea if that’s true. I got the Retreat mints which are supposed to help you relax which is good because I’m pretty much stressed ALL THE TIME.
- Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle (Full Size $21.95 | Sample Size $5) – There are so many amazing reviews on this product. Therefore, I am going to expect a lot. First of all though, this products smells amazing: like vanilla cupcakes and overall amazingness. I might buy the full size on smell alone. (Oh and the sample size was guess-timated because the bottle didn’t have what the oz were on it.)
What was in the satchel:
Harvey Prince Cherie Blossom (Full Size $55 | Sample Size $3.30) – Once again the sample size price was a bit of an educated guess. I think this scent is quite lovely, but I haven’t yet sprayed it on my skin. Judging on its name, it should be perfect for spring. I also really like the sample bottle for this perfume. I don’t know why, but I just like it better.
Ghirardelli Cherry Tango Square (Extra Treat!) – This was delicious! My mom and I split this and ate it immediately.
Well I hoped you liked this post and that it makes sense to you as I’m writing this at 3am (*cries internally*). Back to AP Gov I go!
What did you receive in your beauty box this month?
Okay so I wear almost no makeup when I leave the house in the morning, but I just want share with you what is in my makeup bag. (Keep in mind that these items are only the ones I use on a regular basis. I actually have a lot more stuff in my makeup bag.)
Image made using Polyvore
Yes I only wear two makeup products. I believe that if you don’t need to wear makeup, then don’t wear it because although it can make your skin look better for a day, it can ultimately clog up your pores and cause blemishes.
Anyways, after I wash my face and put on moisturizer in the morning, I put mascara on my upper and bottom lashes. Then I put a little bit of powder on the oily parts of my face (usually just my nose).
So that’s what’s in my makeup bag. What’s in your makeup bag?
