Valentine’s day is just around the corner and my sexy lingerie loving friends at Adore Me, inspired me to think about a Valentine’s Day look. Whether you have a date or are just going out with friends I have cute, yet sophisticated look for you!
For makeup I went for the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation as my base and covered up any spots with my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. For eyes I went for my Loc One & Done Shadow Stick in the shade “On Point,” put that all over my eyelid, then took a bit of glittery brown eyeshadow that I have (no idea the name of the palette or the shade soz), and blended that into my crease (look at me talking like I actually know something about makeup). Then I lined my eyes with my Stila liquid eyeliner and Wet n Wild pencil. I finished my eyes off by curling them and then going in with the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. For blush I went for the Balm Desert Bronzer/Blusher and applied some of my Pearl Invasion highlighter on my cheekbones. I finished off the look with some of my Rimmel Stay Matte powder and a swipe of nude lipstick.
I love this dress from Forever 21 because it’s so flowy and sophisticated. There’s a cheeky little cutout in back which I think adds just a little bit of something extra. Plus, the colors just scream winter to me, making it perfect for this time of year. I paired it with my Mootsie Tootsie white wedges (which are so cute, but tbh seen better days) and these cute little earrings that my friend gave me for my birthday last year.
For those who plan on just staying in and snuggling up to watch some Netflix or Valentine’s Day, get yourself some cute PJs. Adore Me, along with having really pretty underwear, has some really nice pajamas. Plus, if you order from them by Wednesday, February 10th, it will arrive in time for Valentine’s Day!
I hope that this post inspired you and that you have great Valentine’s Day, no matter what you’re doing! Let me know what your plans are in the comments below!
Hey guys! How have your last few days of summer been? Mine have been filled with doing summer homework I never did. Whoops…
So I know it’s September now, but I wanted to show you what I got in my August Birchbox because I feel like I haven’t done one of these posts in forever. So without further ado, let’s get started!
Balance Me Congested Skin Serum (Full Size $30 | Sample Size $14): I’ve been wanting to get a blemish control spot treatment for forever, so I’m really excited to use this! It also smells really freaking good.
Oribe Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray (Full Size $39 | Sample Size $4.59): This one isn’t in the picture because I forgot about it (whoops!), but I’ve liked it the couple times I’ve tried it. It doesn’t feel wet when you put it on your hair. It’s very interesting and different. I’ll keep you guys updated.
Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Cleanser (Full Size $16 | Sample Size $4.59): I LOVE any type of skincare product, especially facial cleansers so I’m super excited to try this out. It says you have to leave it on your skin for 5-10 minutes though so I don’t know… It sounds like a lot of work for a cleanser and I’m lazyyyyyyyy.
St. Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower (Full Size $25 | Sample Size $5.97): I’ve always been super scared to try self-tanners and I would never ever buy one myself. However, I’ve heard really good things about St. Tropez and this product is sold out on Birchbox, so I’m quite intrigued.
theBalm cosmetics Balm Desert Bronzer/Blush (Full Size $21 | Sample Size $2.61): I wasn’t too sure about this when I first saw it in my Birchbox, but after trying it a couple times on my face, I think I love it! I won’t go into too much detail right now, as I need to use it a bit more in order to write a full review, but I love how it gives my face a bit more definition. I don’t ever use pink blushers because I already have quite a flushed face, so this warm bronzer/blush is perfect for me!
I’m so happy with my Birchbox this month and this one has a really good value ($31.76)! Hopefully these products will help keep a little bit of summer in my life as we transition into the colder months.
Have you tried any of these products before? Which one most intrigues you?
Hey lovelies! Before we know it, summer is going to be over (*cries*). But before that happens, I wanted to share my summer skincare routine with you and let you know how I’ve been keeping my skin looking beautiful during these wonderfully warm months. You watch my video on my full skincare routine down below or go to the link here.
I didn’t mention it in the video, but one of the things that has been key to keeping my skin so clear these past few months is the fact that I’ve been doing a lot of cooking for myself lately. I’ve stayed away from eating out too much and have refrained from consuming the copious amounts of sugar I tend to eat during the summer months (although I do still have a soft spot for ice cream). It is so important to treat your body just as nicely on the inside as you treat it on the outside. If you’re looking for some inspiration, Aloha, a brand committed to health, happiness, and beauty from the inside out, has a bunch of recipes on their website, which all look amazing. Personally, I’m eyeing the Superfood Mango Lassi Smoothie Bowl.
Let me know what you think of my skincare routine and if you try any of the recipes from Aloha’s website! I love hearing from you guys!
Hey guys! I hope you had a good weekend! I’m really excited to be blogging again. All my AP testing is over and there’s not much going on at school anymore other than a bunch of papers due in the beginning of June. This is the first product review I’ve posted since January (*gasps*), but I’m excited to get back in the swing of things!
I got this bath bomb for my birthday and since it was from a brand I’ve never heard of before, I was excited to try it. As soon as I dropped it in the bath, it filled the room with a sweet lemon smell (if you know what lemon verbena smells like, it smells exactly like that). The scent faded after a little bit, but I could still smell it despite the fact I had a cold. However, I wasn’t a big fan of the sparkly film the bath bomb left on surface of the water. Once I stepped out of the bath I felt kind of gross, like I was super hydrated, but with something that didn’t really let my skin breathe. The bath also completely covered me in sparkles, but not in a terrible way. The sparkles actually washed off pretty easily and the ones that stayed on the body were subtle enough that it looked like I had a nice shimmer about me.
Overall, I would say that I liked it, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I like feeling hydrated when I step out of the bath, but I don’t like feeling gross.
Have you ever tried this bath bomb? What did you think?
Hey everyone! Today I bring you my January Birchbox! I’m really disappointed in myself that I never posted my December Birchbox because the box was so pretty, but I never got a good photo of the products so there’s that… Anyways, this is my last Birchbox for this year (I got my Birchbox in February 2014) and I have over $50 in Birchbox points that need spending. Any suggestions? Check out their website here and then let me know in the comments! Now let’s get started!
Sumbody // Body Soap in Milky Rich (Full Size $17.85 | Sample Size $5.95): Okay I haven’t ever been a big fan of any of the body soaps I’ve tried out (I’m more of a shower gel/body wash kinda girl), but for some reason I’m so attracted to them and keep buying them. Needless to say, I’m excited to try this out and see if it’s any better than the body soaps I’ve tried in the past.
Balance Me // Wonder Eye Cream (Full Size $38 | Sample Size $17.73): I’m super excited about this product because I’ve actually been meaning to buy myself an eye cream. This one is more focused on anti-aging than I’d like, but that’s okay. It’s supposed to target dark circles as well which I definitely have problems with!
Curly Hair Solutions // Curl Keeper Gel (Full Size $17.50 | Sample Size $2.19): I always love trying out curly hair products, so I’m excited to try this out.
Cynthia Rowley Beauty // Creamy Lip Stain in Heartthrob (Full Size $20 | Sample Size $9.29): I’m not in love with the way the color looks in the bottle (it’s a bit too orangey for me), but often times it looks different on your lips, so finger crossed!
Essentiel Elements // Wake Up Rosemary Body Lotion (Full Size $19 | Sample Size $3.56): I love the smell of this body lotion and the bottle it comes in is just adorable! No doubt this will be used up very quickly!
I’m very impressed with Birchbox this month! All of these are products I will be sure to use and the entire box is valued at about $38.72 which is incredible, considering I only pay $10 for the entire box and the shipping. I’ll probably be doing a whole overview of the Birchboxes that I’ve received this year and pick out some of my favorites so keep an eye out for that!
What do you think of the products I received this month?
Hey you lovely people! How are you all? I’m finally done with midterms! Yay! This week has been crazy stressful and right now all I want is a massage, but I digress. So today I’ll be talking about the Burt’s Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser which I’ve been loving. I went through two bottles of this baby and each bottle lasted me about 1 ½ to 2 months. This cleanser has an amazing orange smell that lingers slightly on the skin, leaving a very light orange scent. (However, I should note that after a few uses, I stopped noticing the lingering scent.) This cleanser is also very gentle which is great, especially if you have SUPER sensitive skin like I do. It starts off as an orange gel and as you rub it on to your face, it turns into this milky substance (which will sometimes run down your arms). There’s nothing particularly special about this cleanser and it’s not a miracle worker (you’re still going to have the occasional bad day), but my skin, in general, tends to be clearer when I use it. It’s now my go to face wash, the one I know I can always rely on.
Have you used this cleanser? What did you think?
Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes – Night Calming
I can’t say I was a huge fan of these makeup wipes. I needed them to take off some of the heavier makeup I wore during the theater shows this summer, but I wasn’t really all that impressed. They did their job by removing most of the makeup from my face, but they just didn’t feel nice. The towelette burned when I used it on sensitive areas of my face, such as my eyes. Unfortunately, most of the makeup I put on is in the eye area. You would think that a product with the word “calming” in its name would work okay in the sensitive eye area. Neutrogena, you promised me that these make up wipes would “gentle [and] ultra soft.” Well, they weren’t. Moral of the story, don’t buy these. Makeup wipes in general are a no-go.
