Hey guys! How’s your week going so far? Day 3 of this trip involved A LOT of walking. We started off the day by hiking up a relatively steep trail that was very icy. However, the views were well worth the climb! We didn’t hike all the way to the top (only to the top of a clearing we came to), but we still got some great views! Going back down the trail was an adventure in itself and I completely wiped out at one point, but we all ended up making it down safe and sound!
After resting at the house for a bit, my family and I ventured out into the town of Santa Fe. Despite the fact that Santa Fe is New Mexico’s capital, it doesn’t have a particularly large population (only about 70,000 people) especially compared to Albuquerque (which has a population of about 500,000 people). (To put that all in perspective, New Mexico’s total population is about 2 million people.) Anyways, Santa Fe has a really interesting little city feel. Santa Fe feels both like a town and a city at the same time. It feels like something out of a movie. I really don’t know how to explain this. I DON’T KNOW HOW TO USE MY WORDS. I know, I know, it’s terrible, especially since I’m a blogger. Hey we’re all still learning okay?
We spent our time in Santa Fe walking up and down the streets, going into a couple of shops, and walking through a maze. After that, we ventured down a road in search for a café where we could rest our feet and have a cup of coffee. After a long, long walk, and one too many stops in the art galleries that lined the road, we reached The Teahouse. It took us a couple of minutes, but we finally figured out that we were supposed to seat ourselves. We found a table and we waited for someone to come over and serve us. We waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, when we just about to get up and leave, a waitress came over and gave us some menus with a very extensive list of drinks. We ordered a few drinks and I can’t say I was all that impressed with what we got. It took us forever to get our bill as well. I wouldn’t recommend this place, but I wouldn’t out-rule it either. Although my experience wasn’t great, it wasn’t so bad that I wouldn’t try it again.
As we were driving home there was a nice little sunset behind us. I got a couple of pictures from the car and also took a couple of photos once we got back to the house. All in all, a tiring, but lovely day.
