Road Trip Day 4: The Most Beautiful Sunset I’ve Ever Seen

Day 4 of the road trip was our last full day in New Mexico. We started off the morning with some freshly baked croissants. Then we headed off to El Paragua for lunch. Their guacamole was absolutely amazing! Probably one of the best I’ve ever had. However, in general, I wasn’t overly impressed with the other food. If you’re interested, there’s a picture below of what I wore to that lunch!

In the afternoon, I went on a hike with my mom. As usual, the views were amazing. The sky was so blue and the sun was shining beautifully as well. After the hike we packed a little bit, but I started to not feel well. I basically spent the rest of the evening curled up on the couch watching Friends. I only got up to take pictures of the sunset and to drink chicken broth and eat cheesecake and ice cream for dessert eat dinner. Let’s talk for a moment about that sunset. It was absolutely gorgeous and probably one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen. It started off as a watercolor painting and transformed into this dramatic, bold…thing. Words and pictures don’t nearly capture its essence.

Road Trip Day 3: Early Morning Hike + Walking Through Santa Fe

Hey guys! How’s your week going so far? Day 3 of this trip involved A LOT of walking. We started off the day by hiking up a relatively steep trail that was very icy. However, the views were well worth the climb! We didn’t hike all the way to the top (only to the top of a clearing we came to), but we still got some great views! Going back down the trail was an adventure in itself and I completely wiped out at one point, but we all ended up making it down safe and sound!

After resting at the house for a bit, my family and I ventured out into the town of Santa Fe. Despite the fact that Santa Fe is New Mexico’s capital, it doesn’t have a particularly large population (only about 70,000 people) especially compared to Albuquerque (which has a population of about 500,000 people). (To put that all in perspective, New Mexico’s total population is about 2 million people.) Anyways, Santa Fe has a really interesting little city feel. Santa Fe feels both like a town and a city at the same time. It feels like something out of a movie. I really don’t know how to explain this. I DON’T KNOW HOW TO USE MY WORDS. I know, I know, it’s terrible, especially since I’m a blogger. Hey we’re all still learning okay?

We spent our time in Santa Fe walking up and down the streets, going into a couple of shops, and walking through a maze. After that, we ventured down a road in search for a café where we could rest our feet and have a cup of coffee. After a long, long walk, and one too many stops in the art galleries that lined the road, we reached The Teahouse. It took us a couple of minutes, but we finally figured out that we were supposed to seat ourselves. We found a table and we waited for someone to come over and serve us. We waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, when we just about to get up and leave, a waitress came over and gave us some menus with a very extensive list of drinks. We ordered a few drinks and I can’t say I was all that impressed with what we got. It took us forever to get our bill as well. I wouldn’t recommend this place, but I wouldn’t out-rule it either. Although my experience wasn’t great, it wasn’t so bad that I wouldn’t try it again.

As we were driving home there was a nice little sunset behind us. I got a couple of pictures from the car and also took a couple of photos once we got back to the house. All in all, a tiring, but lovely day.

Road Trip Day 2: Tea Time!

Hey guys! I meant to write this post a couple of days ago and schedule it to upload on Monday morning, but I felt really ill on Sunday night and just wasn’t feeling up to editing a bunch of photos and writing a post to go along with it. Sorry about that!

We started off day 2 of our travels by going to St. James Tea Room which is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The tea was so lovely! Everything was so delicious and I loved the Casablanca Romance theme they had and how each food fit that theme. Also, each little nook where you could have tea had it’s own name, which I just think is so cute! (We were located in 48 Doughty Street.) If you’re gluten free, they’re very accommodating and they’ll bring you out your own plate with all the same things as everyone else, but gluten free of course. If you’re in the area, you should definitely take a trip to this place!

After going to tea, we went back to the house and just chilled for a bit. Then my mom and I went out for a hike where we found some absolutely gorgeous views of the mountains and the city! New Mexico is an absolutely beautiful place. Sorry for all the pictures of the mountain ranges, but I just think all the views are so pretty. I’m having such a lovely time here!

Road Trip Day 1: Travelling to New Mexico

Hey everyone! Hope you all are having a lovely Sunday! Since we’re currently on February break, my family decided that it would be nice to take a trip to New Mexico to visit my grandparents and then drive back (road trip!). It’s been so nice in New Mexico so far. The views are absolutely beautiful and the weather is so nice! Apologies in advance for the mass amount of mountain range and sunset pictures, they were all just so beautiful!

I got almost zero sleep the night before we left (40 minutes to be exact) as I was up all night packing. I was determined to pack SUPER light (I always pack WAY too much), plus I still had a bunch of laundry to do. The whole day I was completely exhausted. My advice: get a good nights sleep the night before travelling. You’ll be in a better mood and it will make travelling so much better!

Travelling to New Mexico went fairly smoothly. We first flew to Atlanta where we had a SUPER short layover. Thankfully, our gates were in the same terminal so not too much trouble there. Then from Atlanta we flew into the Albuquerque, New Mexico airport. The views flying in were absolutely gorgeous! All the mountain ranges surrounded by clouds! *Sigh* I could spend hours looking at it all.

Eventually we got to my grandparents house and we just chilled for a while, ate some food, etc. The sun started to go down and the views just got more and more gorgeous! Enjoy!

Currently Watching: Friends

Hey everyone! How are you all? It’s Friday, finally! Today I wanted to talk to you about one of the things that I’m currently loving and that is Friends! Ever since this show was put on Netflix in the beginning of the year, I have been watching it non-stop. I’m currently on season 8 (almost season 9) and I still love everything about this show. The writing is just amazing and I love the witty comments that the characters make. Sometimes I find certain characters to be very annoying because of the stupid decisions they make, but that’s typical TV and everything tends to work out in the end. Overall, I absolutely have been loving this show lately and it is definitely up there as one of my top TV shows of all time.

I know this was a super short post today, but I just wanted to share my love of Friends with you. Let me know if you’re a fan as well! I hope you have a great weekend and stay tuned, I have a lot of exciting posts coming up!

What do you think of Friends?
