Neutrogena Night Calming Make Up Wipes Review

Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes – Night Calming

I can’t say I was a huge fan of these makeup wipes. I needed them to take off some of the heavier makeup I wore during the theater shows this summer, but I wasn’t really all that impressed. They did their job by removing most of the makeup from my face, but they just didn’t feel nice. The towelette burned when I used it on sensitive areas of my face, such as my eyes. Unfortunately, most of the makeup I put on is in the eye area. You would think that a product with the word “calming” in its name would work okay in the sensitive eye area. Neutrogena, you promised me that these make up wipes would “gentle [and] ultra soft.” Well, they weren’t. Moral of the story, don’t buy these. Makeup wipes in general are a no-go.

September Favorites

Crunch Girl Scout Bars – I’ve actually only ever had the Thin Mint one (the one pictured is the Samoa one), but it is so freaking good. If you haven’t tried one yet, you should.

Coffaro’s Baking Company Gluten Free Biscotti – My mom is gluten free so she bought these, but then they just sat in our pantry forever and no one ever ate them. However, my sister routinely goes and raids our pantry and when she found these the other day, I was immediately addicted. The two flavors we had were Lemon Vanilla and Cranberry Almond. They were both so good!

Pixi Lip Balm in Ripe Raspberry – I received this lip balm in my September Birchbox and I have been loving it! It’s a lip balm, but it has a lovely color that makes my face look brighter and happier. It doesn’t feel like I’m putting any effort in at all, but it looks like I did.

This Dress (except in maroon) – I bought this dress at Old Navy about a month ago and I think it’s such a pretty dress to wear in the fall time. I’m loving that maroon color. It doesn’t have sleeves, but that’s what layering is for. I think it’s a dress that is pretty interchangeable between the seasons as well because of its subtle floral print.

Garnier Sleek and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner – After trying a bunch of shampoos and conditioner I haven’t liked recently, I’ve finally found my match. (See my reviews of those products here and here.) I feel like my hair is actually being moisturized when I use this shampoo and conditioner which is something I haven’t found with the last few shampoo and conditioners I’ve used.

Aussie Moist Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Aussie Moist Shampoo and Conditioner

I really did not like this product. First of all, the packaging was awful. It was impossible to open the bottles which was especially frustrating in the shower when everything is slippery. Secondly, I felt like this product did the exact opposite of keeping one’s hair “moist.” After I washed the shampoo out of my hair in the shower, my hair felt rubbery. Often people associate this feeling with being clean, but I associate it with dryness and lack of moisture. I also felt as though the conditioner just sat on top of my hair as opposed to really sinking into it. Over time, as I used this shampoo and conditioner set, I felt like my hair was just getting more dry and brittle and eventually I just stopped using it. The one good thing I can say though is that the scent of this was amazing! It smelled like a pina colada. Combined with the scent of the Sugar Crush Body Wash, which smells like a margarita, there was a crazy cocktail party of scents going on in my shower.

I was so disappointed that this product didn’t work out for me because I heard so many good things from other beauty bloggers. Then I realized something. The ingredients in the US version of the Aussie Moist Shampoo and Conditioner are different than the ingredients in the UK version. In fact, the two even have two different names, although only slightly different. Here in the US it’s called Aussie Moist Shampoo. In the UK it’s called Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo. Compare the ingredients difference here and here.
