Romper Fun – OOTD

IMG_9850 IMG_9865 IMG_0017_2IMG_0021_2 IMG_0018_2Romper – TJ Maxx // Bandeau – Urban Outfitters // Earrings – ??? // Necklace – Astrid & Miyu // Tote Bag – Primark

I am in love with this romper! I bought it at TJ Maxx the other day, along with a bunch of other stuff. (See my haul post here.) This is the first romper I’ve owned and I need more! I love the little flowers on it, so obviously I had to pair it with flower jewelry and pose in the garden with some flowers. 😉 The back of the romper is pretty low in the back, so as not to be flaunting my bra strap, I paired this romper with a bandeau. I think that panda tote is just so cute as well.

New Favorite Artist: Ingrid Michaelson

So the other day my friend discussed the possibility of going to an Ingrid Michaelson concert. I didn’t immediately recognize the name, but when I looked her up I was like “Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.” Out of curiosity, I started listening to her albums. I’ve got to say: I’m hooked. I can’t stop listening to her songs. Check her out below:

Photoshoot with Peachy Keen

In the middle of June, Erin, from the blog Peachy Keen, and I had a fun photoshoot/girl’s day out before I moved. Here are some of the photos we took:

I can’t find the baking powder… (My Day #1)

So I thought I would share some more journal/diary type posts with you guys because I like writing in that style and I thought it would give more of a chance to see what happens in my day! Enjoy!

Last night I could not get sleep. I don’t know why, but I was kind of stressed out. I don’t know what about because it’s summer. I guess I have too many thoughts floating around in my head.

This morning was kind of slow, but productive at the same time. I got up, read some people’s posts on Bloglovin, and published a blog post. Then I took my dogs for a walk quickly before I headed into town. I live kind of outside the “downtown” part of my small town and so I half walked, half biked into town. I have quite a few injuries and grease marks on my legs from trying to get on and off my dad’s bike. My legs just aren’t long enough, even after adjusting the seat. On the upside, I got a good workout in! While I was in town, I had to get some money from the bank as well as a couple of things to make this recipe. Then I biked back to my house. On the way back I attempted to bike up a really steep hill and although I made it up, I think I almost died… (Little bit of an exaggeration, but that’s what it felt like.)

When I got back to my house, I took my dogs out again. Then I started to get everything out to make my recipe. I should have done so before leaving this morning though, because it turned out that I had no baking powder. I searched frantically around my house, but alas, baking powder was no where to be seen. I then searched on the internet. Substitutions involved baking soda. Turns out I didn’t have that either. *SIGH* (Note: About a week later, when looking for the salt, I found that we actually did have both. Whoops.)

Since I didn’t have everything to make my muffin things, I decided to be productive and clean our porch. While we were away, the porch had built up a lot of pollen. So I got out the broom and swept. This did nothing however. It just kicked the pollen up into the air. So I got out a mop. I filled up a bucket about a fourth of the way with hot water and mopped the porch. After many trips back to the sink to dump out the blackened water and fill the bucket up again, the porch was pretty clean, but just to make sure, I went over the whole thing with a Swiffer mop. This all took me about two hours.

After cleaning the porch, I took a shower. My friends then picked me up and we went to see a kids show. All the kids were so cute and afterwards we went to a pizza place to have dinner. I got a slice of Greek pizza and an Orangina, which was a childhood drink for me. It would always be a special occasion drink for my sister and me.

wpid-wp-1404489448366.jpegAfter dinner, I went to see another show, which my friends were in. I’ll be joining them in a different show later this month. It was a great day though and the next morning I was able to make my muffins before going shopping with one of my friends.

June Favorites

This June favorites has no beauty things, I’m sorry. I haven’t really been using anything new that I’m in love with. If you saw yesterday’s post though, you saw that I bought a couple new facemasks and a hair mask, so hopefully I will have something to share with you next month. Now enjoy these favorites!

Passion Fruit Juice – Now I have always loved passion fruit juice so this is really more of a rediscovery as I start to see more of this in the United States. Passion fruit juice is kind of hard to find in regular stores, so often I have to go to ethnic food stores to find this. I love passion fruit juice though. It is the perfect combination of sweet and sour! I could drink it all day! I really want to try out this recipe for passion fruit juice that I found on Pinterest! (Overuse of exclamation points!)

Magic Wingdom/Baby Bird Bros – I don’t know what I find so enjoyable about this game, but I’ve been especially loving it this month. It’s really addictive. Basically what you’re trying to do is match together eggs of the same color and make sure that eggs of different colors don’t touch.

Italian Radio – If you have one of those internet radio boxes, such as a Squeezebox, you can listen to radio stations all over the world. Lately I’ve liked listening to Italian radio because I like the mix of American and Italian music, plus, all the talking that isn’t music is in Italian, so I never get annoyed at the DJs.

Everybody’s VidCon Vlogs – I just like seeing all my favorite YouTubers together and I kind of get lost in their lives when watching their videos. Oh that sounds so sad on my part. I promise I have friends.

This woman left everything to travel the world with her father.

This is my new favorite travel website.

This guy’s girlfriend was fed up with taking photos of everything and then this happened.

This picture basically describes my dad and me.Some of these things in this video are kind of offense and I don’t necessarily agree with everything in this video, but in general, it’s pretty funny so I thought I’d share it with you guys. (Also I think this video is from July…whoops.)

TJ Maxx and Target Haul

The other day I took a trip to TJ Maxx and Target, two of my favorite stores! I usually find more stuff in Target, but this time I spent most of my money in TJ Maxx, which is good, because TJ Maxx is a tad bit cheaper. 😉 Let’s look at what I got! IMG_9915_2 IMG_9947 Naughty me got sucked in by the beauty section of TJ Maxx. I bought the Jheri Redding Extra Argan Oil Hydrating Mask ($7.99), the Jean Pierre Cosmetics Peel-Off Gel Mask ($4.99), and the Dirty Works Power Berry Detox Mask ($5.99). I have a reason for buying everything though (or that’s what I like to tell myself). I bought the hair mask because my hair has been in serious need of some therapy lately. I bought the detox mask because of the breakouts I’ve been having on my face. I bought the peel off mask because…I like peel-off masks (not a great excuse for that last one haha). I tried the hair mask and the detox mask last night and my first impressions are good, but I’ll hold off on writing a full review until I’ve tried them a little longer. IMG_9939 I really needed a new pair of earbuds so I just picked up these ones at TJ Maxx. ($5.99) I haven’t tried them out yet, but fingers crossed, they’ll be okay. Now I’m super sorry about these next photos. I’m still trying to find a good place to shoot in my new house and the backgrounds to a lot of these photos are really orange. So I apologize.IMG_9958I love the pattern of this dress and the way it comes right up and closes off at the neck. It’s not the easiest thing to get my head through (I have a really big head), but I decided to buy it anyway. (One Clothing $14.99) IMG_9977 I’ve been looking for a crop top for a while to pair with this skirt from Forever 21. I didn’t want something too fancy because I wanted to pair it with other items in my closet as well and I thought this crop top from Target was perfect. Now, to me, it looks a bit ugly in the picture above, but I like the way it hangs on my body and maybe I can do a photoshoot so I can show you guys what it really looks like. (Mossimo Supply Company $12.99)IMG_9982 I LOVE THESE SHORTS. THEY’RE SOFT SHORTS GUYS. Soft shorts and scalloped edges are trending right now so if you need some ideas on what soft shorts to get check out this blogpost about summer trends on Zoe Bold (love that girl’s blog). Anyways, I bought these at TJ Maxx because I love the feel of them, the scalloped edges, and that beautiful blue color. (Mine $12)IMG_9997I absolutely love this romper. I’ve already worn it twice already and it makes me want to buy more rompers. The color, the little flowers, just everything about this romper is amazing. (Mini Chica $14.99) wpid-wp-1404415176451.jpegI ended off the shopping trip with a little Starbucks Chai Tea Latte. YUM!

Midi Skirt Obsession

I was showing my mom this dress I loved on ModCloth the other day and before I knew it, my Pinterest board was full of vintage style dresses and midi skirts. So I thought I would share some of my favorites with you.

1 // I love the lace on this skirt.

2 // Floral! Plus those two little pleats and buttons in the front are just so cute! Check out this surprisingly similar one from ModCloth as well.

3 // I love the fullness of this skirt. Plus, it’s navy.

4 // The whole outfit and makeup of this model is gorgeous. I like the length of the skirt and the pleats of it as well.

5 // I’m tempted to buy this skirt because it’s only $20 and it’s free shipping. So, win, win. This skirt is more boho-y than the others, but it’s an interesting length. I’m tempted, so tempted.

Which one of these is your favorite?
