The Fault in Our Stars Movie Trailer

I cannot express how excited I am for this movie to come out.

Best and Worst Shopping Choices

I love shopping, but I don’t always make the best decisions and I sometimes end up with clothes that I don’t wear. Last summer I was out shopping with my friends, and me and my best friend came upon these pairs of very stretchy colorful pants. I want to say leggings, but it wasn’t exactly that. Anyway, long story short, I ended up buying a pink pair of leggings pants that I never ended up wearing. If you click on the picture below, it will take you to the website of the company which the pants came from. Now, on the website the pants are $11o. I bought them for around $30-$35. So maybe they weren’t the worst decision ever (because they are actually pretty comfortable), but they really aren’t my style anymore and the stitches rip very easily.

Now, if the pants above are the same as the pants I bought, they are definitely not that pink. My pants look more like the color in the image below:

Now lets on a slightly happier note. I have many favorite finds, but my current favorite is a pair of boots I bought recently. When I first saw them, I immediately wanted them. However, I was a little skeptical because they were almost a full size too big. Maybe not that big, but there was definitely some slide room. It was another lady shopping there that convinced me though. “Those are so great!” she told me. So I bought them (I totally succumb to peer pressure) and I love them! They are so neutral and I wear them with just about everything. They’re from Old Navy by the way, but I bought them at a thrift store. Thrift stores are the best.

Cute Boots!

What are some of your best and worst shopping decisions?

Weekly Favorites (January 12-19th)

Here are little random favorites of mine from the past week:

The Rickshaw Run Series – Okay so JacksGap just finished a series this week about their trip to India and the Rickshaw Run they did there. I really enjoyed the series and it was filmed wonderfully. I’ll put the trailer below if you would like to find out more.

This show is absolute genius.

So actually, I’ve had my Pinterest for a long time, but I’m just now getting back into it. I’m been slightly obsessed this week… If you don’t have Pinterest account, make one. Here is the link.

I love Frozen and their songs. I’ve been listening to it on repeat on Spotify. Here is the link to all the songs on Spotify.

More specifically, the Pilot G-2 10 pens. I bought two new ones this week and they are ah-mazing. Definitely my favorite pens. You know they cost like, two dollars each but…THEY ARE WORTH IT. Anyways, just ignore my weird obsession with these pens.

What are your favorites of the week?

Shopping Haul! (Plus Product Review)

A few weeks ago a few of my friends and I went shopping. Our hearts really weren’t that into it though so we didn’t pick up nearly as much as we might have. Our first stop was Target.

I bought the following products from Target:

  1. Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Scrunching Gel ($3.39) – I bought this product just to try it out. I have curly hair and I don’t like how it dries after being wet. The curls are all frizzy and tangled. However, I have yet to try this product.
  2. Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampooing Sec ($1.99) – I also bought this product just to try it out. I have used it once and although it smells very nice, it doesn’t really seem to make a difference. I will have to use it more though to really make a solid conclusion.
  3. Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in Transparent ($3.99) – I bought this product to replace my old one which broke because I dropped it. I love this product and I use it every day!
  4. Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream Travel Size ($1.27) – I have extremely dry hands and this hand cream is one of the only things that helps them. Plus I love the cute little travel sized tubes.

I bought the following items at TJ Maxx. Both were products I bought to try out:

  1. Original Dead Sea Night Cream ($5.99) – I’ve never tried this product before, but I love it! It smells good and it leaves my skin feeling really soft.
  2. Original Dead Sea Exfoliating Mud Mask ($5.99) – This product is also really nice. I’m not particularly in love with the smell (it smells slightly of cherry cough syrup), but it leaves my skin feeling smooth, soft, and clear. It does somewhat irritate my skin when I first put it on, but I think this is because of the small bits of sand that are exfoliating my face.

Does anyone own any of these products? If so, what do like/dislike about them?

A Little Bit About Me

Lets see, I’m an amateur photographer (but I’ve sold a photo), a baker, a student, a world traveler, and now a blogger. I love to read. I love to journal. I always have a messy room. My best friend is a genius with makeup whereas I barely wear any. I don’t know what I hope to accomplish with this blog. I just plan on writing this year to just see where it will take me. I am openly defying the rule bloggers tend to set that your blog should be focused generally around one topic because if I followed that mindset, then I would be writing this blog for the wrong reasons. I would be writing for an audience and I wouldn’t be writing for me. However, I started this blog because I felt like I had something to share with the rest of the world. I hope anyone reading this feels like that too. Happy reading!

A New Year

So it’s a new year. Time for a whole slew of resolutions that won’t be achieved. Here are some of mine:

  1. Post one blogpost on this blog every Sunday for the next year – I don’t write as much as I should. I believe that writing is good for the soul though and helps relieve stress. Goodness knows I’m stressed a lot.
  2. Eat healthier – Many people’s new year’s resolutions are to lose weight, but I always think that’s too general. Yes, “eat healthier” is also very general, but Calorie Count is a good way to track how healthy your food is and it rates how healthy each food item is as well as the overall day. You can set different goals for yourself to achieve and it’s an overall good way to get yourself to eat healthier. However, it can be very time consuming which is why I have not been using it lately.
  3. Do a photo challenge each month for a year – I have a nice camera, but I don’t get out and take pictures nearly enough. However, you don’t need a super nice camera to do a photo challenge. You can just use a point-and-shoot camera or even just your phone. I know many people do Instagram challenges and I’ll probably be taking those to use for my monthly photo challenges. This month though, I will be doing the self-portrait challenge which I got from A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book. All you have to do is take a photo of yourself a day for one month. The only rules are that you must take the photo yourself and that you must be in the photo. It doesn’t have to be your face, it can be your feet, nails, hair, etc.

So those are my New Year’s Resolutions. What are yours?
